Description
As the most serious threat in global public health history, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the implementation of restriction policies, such as lockdown and social distances, causing business, social and economic crises and recession. The crisis and recession have disproportionate impacts on traditionally vulnerable communities, such as racial and ethnic minorities, low-income residents, and migrants. It is important to understand the changes in business, social, and economic environments and the variation in their implications over geographic space during the crisis and recession to provide guides for the next stage of recovery. This session aims to examine spatial patterns and determinants of COVID-19 and how COVID-19 influence the urban economy, residents, business, and spaces. Evidence is used to investigate the variation in consequences across racial, socioeconomic, and migrant groups, and business and economic sectors.
