Abstract
This paper presents reflections on perspectives and approaches to critically rethink Geography to the point of reaching the construction of methods and methodologies within the field of study of Black Geographies. The main objective is to discuss the various possibilities of this field of teaching and geographic research in a visible way, as with other fields of scientific research in the area, and to remove the weight of perspectives molded in colonial heritages and referenced by racist epistemic models. As a methodology adopted, I point to the approach of “escrevivências” coined and authored by Conceição Evaristo. The method that has been proposed involves perspectives “desde dentro” by Guimarães (2015), which in recent years has been improved in an attempt to form a blackened epistemological body. To broaden and strengthen this discussion is to include feeling, thinking and being black, in teaching and researching about geographical concern in an affirmative and political position, so that the histories, cultures and knowledge of colonized and enslaved social and racial groups can be part of spatial analyses, not the main point when the reflections are about affirmative issues.
