Abstract
For the past thirty years, metropolization has maintained the attractiveness of the world's largest cities. France has not escaped this widely debated phenomenon. My paper deals with the the consequences of metropolization in terms of territorial inequalities. Public redistribution, but also private redistribution through household mobility, has enabled many areas often described as "peripheral" to record sustained growth in per capita income, while others have seen their situation deteriorate. All in all, the recompositions in terms of spatial disparities induced by metropolization are highlighted. To demonstrate and discuss these dynamics, I mobilize an unpublished database for France: per capita income at the municipal level for the last 30 years.
