Abstract
The paper looks at humanitarian assistance from historical and geographic perspectives to consider the evolution of the recent North Atlantic dominance in this sector, and how this dominance may change going forward. This process will involve defining key points on a humanitarian assistance timeline which incorporates geographical reference points as well. The paper will aid in expanding the understanding of how the humanitarian assistance enterprise is shaped by events and is linked to the needs of humanitarian crisis survivors.
