Description:
Are you a student or an early career geographer, planning to work on your research or professional development, build professional networks with other peers this summer? Our 2022 summer series may support you to achieve your goals!
The 2022 summer series will be the first of its kind for AAG. This series will be fully virtual and feature advanced-level and basic-level workshops, a seminar series, graduate working groups, and graduate forums. The main audience of the offerings during the summer series will be graduate students, but a few offerings will also target recently graduated geographers in- or outside of academia, and a few undergraduate students.
To help AAG identify workshop instructors, leaders, and speakers for the series, we relied on several committees. On this panel, you will hear from representatives of those committees who will share the following:
(1) What was the scope of your committee, and which workshop, seminar, working group or forum topics has your committee selected?
(2) Who is the target audience for these virtual offerings and why do you think these topics are timely or will be valuable to them?
(3) Why do you think anyone should sign up to participate in the summer series?
You will also hear from AAG staff who will provide a brief overview of the summer series, why it came about, and how and when to register. An open Q&A session will follow and address any questions about the series from the audience. So, if you are interested to participate in the summer series, come meet the program committees and learn more from AAG staff! During the session AAG staff will provide the audience with instructions on how to sign-up to receive early notifications once registrations open in the Spring!
