Description:
Cities possess massive resources, talent and creativity and serve as hubs for innovation, knowledge sharing and experimentation, facilitating the process of generating new ideas, embedding them locally and scaling-up what works best. With the advent of digital technologies ranging from smartphones to drones, the way we sense our environment has seen a massive change. It is now possible to make our cities safer and resilient based on data-driven policymaking. However, digital innovation have made it evident that technologies should be used ethically and equitably to promote unbiased policymaking. In this session we invite papers on the role of geographical analysis to address issues of urban sustainability, tackling bias in digital governance and promote safety of citizens using varied applications.
