Abstract
Urban neighbourhoods are focal points of everyday life. In the context of emerging arrival discourses, neighbourhoods might be seen as spaces for feeling at home where belonging might create a sense of place attachment. However, the process of arrival by newcomers as well as by long-term residents in urban neighbourhoods is not only shaped by “analogue” practices. Rather, urban neighbourhoods also provide digital spheres of communication and interaction which might affect the the process of individual’s arrival in an urban neighbourhood, likewise. This paper will draw attention on digital spheres of neighbourhoods by integrating selected cases from the context of (super-)diverse neighbourhoods in Vienna (Austria).
