Abstract
The SUNY Cortland Geography Department has a long history of assisting local government, emergency services, and non-profit organizations with mapping and geospatial analysis. Students in the department are expanding their service to assist local entrepreneurs and small business owners through the newly formed SUNY Cortland Entrepreneurship Center. Students will be assisting community partners through internships, workshops, online training, and innovative projects that are centered in a convenient downtown location. The addition of an Entrepreneurship minor, open to all undergraduates, provides a path for students to gain real-world experience prior to graduation. Geography and GIS students contribute a unique skill set to this endeavor and this poster discusses some examples.
